An Edinburgh road has been closed by emergency services after an ‘incident involving a bus’. Around 8pm on December 15, police, paramedics and fire crews rushed to Milligan Drive.

The exact nature of the incident is unknown at this time but locals report a pavement near a halted Lothian Bus was taped off. Pictures taken from the scene show two police vehicles and an ambulance in attendance.

Lothian Buses were unable to serve Milligan Drive and the service 14 route was instead diverted via Little France Drive and The Royal Infirmary.

One concerned passer-by told Edinburgh Live: “Police, ambulances and fire brigade on Milligan drive EH16 with a number 14 bus. It’s all taped off.”

A statement from Lothian Buses reads: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Milligan Drive and are instead diverted via Little France Drive and The Royal Infirmary, terminating at Sandilands Close until further notice.”

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
