There have been some stunning individual performances in recent games from some Leeds United players. On Sunday, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has won the plaudits for his stunning equaliser.
But it was more than just Calvert-Lewin on Sunday. Ethan Ampadu was excellent in midfield again, and Jaka Bijol kept Igor Thiago under control, the Premier League’s second-best goalscorer this season.

Against Chelsea, Ao Tanaka and Lukas Nmecha were excellent as they both got their names on the score sheet. In the draw with Liverpool, Troy Deeney names Anton Stach in his BBC Sport Team of the Week.
This Leeds side is in good form. There is momentum and there is a level of confidence that has not been there all season. Tim Howard says “three games unbeaten” will be whispered around training this week.

Since the turn of the century, not many players have more of an iconic status than Lucas Radebe. A newly appointed club ambassador, the South African is seen as one of the best defenders in the club’s history.
Speaking to LUTV, another iconic Leeds defender in Dom Matteo said that having watched Bijol keep in-form Brazilian star Thiago quiet, that the Slovenian deserves praise. He said he can see Radebe, in Bijol.
“He’s had a great few weeks as a centre-half. All three have been outstanding. I know goals have gone in but you’re playing against top players so you almost have to accept that. He’s a proper defender.

“He loves duels. Like, when I played with Radebe. Defender, wanting to put his head on the ball, wanting to boot people, I see that in him. Not saying he’s Lucas’ level, long way to go, but he has that aggression.”

Adam Underwood’s plan is finally coming together at Leeds
During the run of six defeats in seven games, Farke wasn’t the only one to come in for criticism. Indeed, sporting director Adam Underwood was hammered too having failed to improve the club’s attack.
Many questioned why so much was spent on Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and James Justin when at one point, none of the three were starting. Fans were angry that £30m had been spent on defensive cover.
Yet, Bijol is now in the side and after a few games, he is finally starting to show why Leeds paid Udinese a bargain fee of £15m to land the giant defender. It is the same for many of Underwood’s 10 signings.
Bijol is proving his worth, Stach is proving to be a superb acquisition in midfield, Noah Okafor is a huge threat in attack and Calvert-Lewin has five goals. Lukas Nmecha has four. Perhaps, he spent well.
