Tell Me Lies has just released a trailer for its third season, as Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco decide to give another shot to their toxic relationship.

The “addictive” series is returning to Disney+ on 13 January with the first two episodes, with the remaining six episodes releasing weekly after that.

Judging by the trailer, season 3 seems to be as tumultuous as ever as Lucy and Stephen rekindle their bad romance only for more secrets to come to light.

The clip opens on Lucy (Grace Van Patten) recording an apology video, while another scene teases that whatever controversy she’s been involved in is nowhere near what Stephen (Jackson White) has done.

Despite having been through some pretty intense events in the first two seasons, the on-again-off-again couple continues being drawn to each other.

“We have to be nice to each other this time,” Lucy tells Stephen as they lie in bed, adding that her friends think she’s “crazy” for being roped back into their dysfunctional relationship.

“Has anyone ever told you you have really bad decision-making skills?” Diana tells Lucy in another scene. She chuckles in response, “Yeah,” she says.

Outside of the central romance, Lucy and Stephen’s friends have to deal with their own mistakes.

Lucy’s best friend Bree (Catherine Missal) — whose wedding in the 2015 timeline kicks off season 1 — is still grappling with the aftermath of her affair with her married professor, Oliver (Tom Ellis). In the new season, the two bump into each other in the corridors at Baird College, as Oliver ignores her.

“As scandalous secrets fester around campus, vicious consequences threaten Lucy and everyone in her circle,” the synopsis for the upcoming season concludes, teasing another explosive batch of episodes are on the way.

Premiered in September 2022, Tell Me Lies received mostly positive reviews, with its first season currently having a rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Different critics had opposite views on the show’s “soapy” tone and unlikeable characters, as some praised the series as a “compelling” watch (via Common Sense Media) and others slammed it as “off-putting” (via Decider).

Tell Me Lies season 3 debuts on Disney+ with its first two episodes on 13 January, 2026. The remaining six episodes will then release weekly.

Season 1 and 2 are available on the same platform now.
