Liverpool supporters are looking ahead to the January transfer window with the expectation of making some new additions.
The Reds were extremely active during the summer market, but still left themselves dangerously short in one or two areas. Fans are hoping they will be addressed in the New Year.
That expectation has been aided by the fact that Liverpool are being heavily tipped to make a move for two of the Premier League’s outstanding performers this season.

Signing Marc Guehi may prove difficult after Oliver Glasner predicted that the centre-back would remain at Crystal Palace for the rest of the season.
But there is rather more uncertainty surrounding the future of Antoine Semenyo, who will see a £65m release clause become active in the first month of 2026. Liverpool have been heavily linked with Semenyo, and according to journalist Lewis Steele, they could move swiftly to beat their rivals to the 25-year-old.
Liverpool ready to trump rivals and sign Antoine Semenyo
After going seven Premier League matches without a goal, Semenyo underlined his quality once again by scoring with an excellent strike from the right wing against Manchester United.
United are one of the clubs said to be interested in the former Bristol City winger, along with Man City and Tottenham, amongst others.

Liverpool clearly like Semenyo as well, but appear to be thinking of the Ghanaian as more of a signing for next summer. According to Steele, though, the Reds could jump in if they think one of their rivals is readying a January move.
“Gakpo was one they were planning to do in the summer, but for whatever reason, Spurs and Man Utd made a play for him, and they said we’re going to do it now, and, snap, they did it late on,” he said in a live YouTube Q&A on Wednesday.
“If Liverpool got word that City, United or Spurs were ready to go, I think they would try to hijack it like that.”

Liverpool should ignore Semenyo scramble
Gakpo was not the first player Liverpool brought forward plans to sign after their Premier League rivals made a move in mid-season.
One year prior to the Dutchman’s arrival, the Reds did a similar trick with Luis Diaz, who looked like he may have been on his way to Spurs in January 2022.
Liverpool had initially been targeting Diaz in the summer of the same year, but hit the gas once they realised they could miss out.
This is clearly a pattern with the Reds, and one it would not be a surprise to see them continue in order to sign Semenyo.
However, the Ghana international is not quite in the same class as either Gakpo or Diaz, and given we do not think he is an improvement on what Liverpool currently have, there is no need for them to get involved in this transfer scramble. Rise above it and let the others slug it out, the Reds should have bigger fish to fry.
