The twice-weekly service will operate in May, June, September and October next year.

An industrial port city located near the Bay of Biscay in northern Spain, Bilbao functions as the de facto capital of the Basque Country. It is famous for the Frank Gehry–designed Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which sparked revitalization in the city when it opened back in 1997.

Vueling already operates a route between Edinburgh and Barcelona, which will continue four times per week.

The route between the Scottish capital and the major Mediterranean port launched in April last year with a twice-weekly service.
