Kata Hay, a former contestant on the television show The Voice, has been arrested for vehicular homicide.
The singer, from Oklahoma, who appeared on the tenth edition of the hit series in 2016, was arrested by the Goodlettsville Police Department in Tennessee on December 17th.
In a Facebook post, published earlier this week before her arrest, the Goodlettsville Police Department issued a rallying call for locals to find Hay, whose real name is Kata Huddleston.
The post reads, “We have reason to believe that she may be enroute to Oklahoma and traveling with a white male and quite possibly towing a large camper.”
Following the call to citizens, Huddleston was arrested shortly afterwards. In a later Facebook post, the police confirmed, “The Goodlettsville Police Department would like to thank the multitude of citizens who called in with tips as to the location of Ms. Huddleston.”
The message added, “As a direct result we are pleased to announce that she was arrested early this morning in Oklahoma where she will be extradited back to Davidson County.”
According to TMZ, Huddleston is currently being held at the Osage County Jail in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The publication also reports that she has an open DUI case relating to an incident in Davidson County on December 10th.
On December 22nd, Huddleston is set to go before a district court judge in Oklahoma to sign a waiver of extradition.
In 2022, Huddleston was sentenced to six months in prison for having sexual contact with a minor.
