A woman was taken to hospital after Merseyside Police were called to a waterfront apartment and offices complex. Police today confirmed they attended reports of a 42-year-old woman who was injured at Mann Island in the city centre.

Officers were at the scene shortly after 11pm on Saturday, the ECHO understands, and remained in attendance at around 10.30am on Sunday. After conducting an investigation into how the woman obtained her injuries, police have said they are now satisfied that she was not the victim of an assault.

After arriving at the scene, the woman was taken to hospital to be treated and it has been confirmed that she was later discharged.

Merseyside Police said they would soon be standing down their presence on Mann Island following the incident.
