The police watchdog has issued a statement after a woman suffered serious injuries during an incident which led to the closure of the A483. North Wales Police referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct [IOPC] after the woman was injured in an incident at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 17.

The A483 was closed in both directions amid “concerns for the safety of a woman”. Police later confirmed a woman was seriously injured.

The IOPC have now confirmed they have assessed the referral, and passed it back to North Wales Police. A spokesperson said: “We received a referral from North Wales Police in relation to this incident.

“After carrying out a thorough assessment of the information provided we decided that it should be returned for the force to deal with as it sees fit and without formal direction to investigate.” Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter sent twice daily to your inbox
