Forensic teams have been pictured scouring a Glasgow street following a death on Christmas Day.

Emergency services were alerted to an incident at around 11.40pm last night (December 25) and rushed to the scene, where a 38-year-old man was found injured. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Locals have reported a large police presence in the area, with Napiershall Street and North Woodside Road remaining closed. One eyewitness previously told GlasgowLive: “There’s a big police presence and they have said it’s a serious incident. We live on one of the side streets and weren’t allowed to drive down and park at our flat.”

Another said: “The road is cordoned off with police tape and detectives wearing white hazmat suits are also at the scene.”

Police Scotland says there will be a continued presence in the area while investigations take place.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 11.40pm on Thursday, 25 December, 2025, we received a report of an injured man in Napiershall Street, Glasgow. Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Officers are following a positive line of enquiry and there will be a continued police presence in the area. Anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.

“Napiershall Street and North Woodside Road are closed to allow for investigations.”
