A dad-of-two was preparing for his night shift, when he looked out of his window to see a new BMW on his driveway. Stephen Coyle, from Liverpool, opened his door to BOTB [Best Of The Best] competition’s Katie Knight and was lost for words when she broke the news that he was now the owner of a £68,000 BMW M4.
As she guided him outside and towards his new state of the art motor, he continued to struggle to put a sentence together as he moved increasingly closer to tears.
He said: “Nothing like this ever happens. It’s beautiful, it’s absolutely stunning, I don’t know if I can drive that, it’s going to be a bit too fast.”
Before he jokingly added: “No, it’s not too fast, it’ll be fine.”

When he finally unlocked the car and got inside for the first time, he still couldn’t believe his luck, as he continued to insist that it was “real”. He added: “I never thought I’d own a car like this. This is amazing, I still don’t think it’s real. I think you’re going to take the keys off me and go ‘happy Christmas, here’s a Citroen C1’ “.
However, while he was still trying to take in what had just happened, Katie asked him to step out of the car and walk around to the rear. In another moment of astonishment, he found a box of £10,000 cash. He said: “No way! Well there’s the insurance. This is not real.”

As Katie asked him how he was planning to spend the lump some of money, Stephen had three things on his mind. He said: “New bathroom, nice Christmas, maybe a holiday. The kids are having a good Christmas anyway, but [this has made it] even better.”
Like other lucky winners of the luxury cars in the past, Stephen had the difficult decision of having to choose between either keeping the car or exchanging it for its cash alternative instead.

He said: “That will literally pay my mortgage off, I was 40 a month ago, and I will be mortgage free. As much as that is beautiful, that’s life changing money, £10,000 is life changing money, I know it might not be a lot to some people, but it is [to me], in one lump some, it’s a huge amount.”
Each week BOTB turns up at the doors of lucky entrants and hands over the keys to luxury cars and lifestyle prizes.
Created in 1999, BOTB have awarded over 513,000 prize, including a staggering £123m-worth of cars.
