After leading his side to the Cymru North title last season followed by an impressive start to life in the Cymru Premier in the present campaign, Michael Wilde is our Grassroots North Wales men’s team Manager of the Year for 2025.

Former Connah’s Quay Nomads and The New Saints striker Wilde, fourth highest scorer in Welsh Premier history with 235 goals, was appointed Bay boss in May 2024. Former Nomads team-mate Danny Harrison was named his assistant.

The pair went on to be crowned Cymru North champions at the first attempt, securing the Seagulls an instant return to Cymru Premier status they lost at the end of 2023-24.

Bay came out on top of the Tier 2 Cymru North after a battle royale with Airbus UK Broughton.

It represented a fantastic start to management for Wilde, whose team won 26 of 30 league matches over the season, losing just once, 4-0 at home to relegated Bangor 1876 on the opening day.

Bay’s record between January and April 2025 was: league – won 12, drawn 1, lost 0 and in all competitions – played 15, won 13, drawn 1 and lost 1.

In their only previous Cymru Premier season, Bay generally struggled, but since August under Wilde, they have won 8, drawn 6 and lost 6, currently sitting in that all-important top six in fifth spot.

The Seagulls have also reached the Welsh Cup quarter-finals, where they will visit CPL rivals Caernarfon Town in the new year.

Bay ended the year in superb fashion with a 2-1 win at Caernarfon on December 27 – an early psychological edge ahead of next month’s cup clash?

In 2025 as a whole under Wilde’s leadership, Bay’s record in all matches was won 24, drawn 7 and lost 8 – a win percentage of 61.53.
