Ditch the diet and head to the local for a bargain as eleven city pubs slash prices on food and drink to help you beat the post-Christmas blues
Wetherspoons sale kicks off
Pub-goers can enjoy a January Sale at eleven Wetherspoon pubs in and around Bristol – including a pint of Worthington’s beer from 99p to £1.99.
Pub managers at the pubs are reducing the price of a range of drinks and meals from Friday January 2 until Thursday January 15 inclusive.
The other drinks featured in the sale are Coldwater Creek wine (250ml glass of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rose, Merlot at £3.99 each, Johnnie Walker Black Label (25ml including a mixer) and Tanqueray London Dry Gin (25ml including a mixer) at £3.29 each, a full range of low and alcohol-free drinks; Guinness 0.0%, Corona Cero, Brewdog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers zero, Koppaberg Alcohol Free, Gordons 0.0 pink gin at £2.69 each and Beck’s Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa for 99p each.
Customers can also enjoy savings on food too, with an 11-inch Margherita pizza and a crunchy chicken burger, served with chips or side salad, each costing £6.49 with a soft drink and £8.02 with an alcoholic drink.
In addition, a choice of six jacket potatoes, plus three new gourmet jackets will be available in the sale.
A jacket potato with a choice of one filling (from tuna mayo, coleslaw, chilli bean non-carne, cheese, baked beans, roasted vegetables) will cost £5.49 including a soft drink and £7.02 with an alcoholic drink.
Customers can add an extra filling or side salad for 99p.
The gourmet jacket potatoes are new to the menu and will cost £6.99 with a soft drink and £8.52 with an alcoholic drink.
The loaded spud is topped with cheese, maple-cured bacon, garlic butter and sour cream.
The Mexican spud, a vegetarian option, is loaded with chilli non-carne, cheese, guacamole, crushed tortilla chips, sliced chillies and coriander.
The smoky spud is loaded with pulled BBQ beef brisket, cheese, smoky chipotle mayo and sliced chillies.

Grace in Whiteladies Road, The Berkeley in Queens Road, Clifton, The Robert Fitzharding in Cannon Street, Bedminster, The Staple Hill Oak in High Street, Staple Hill, the Knight’s Templar in The Square, Temple Quay, The Kingswood Colliers in Regent Street, Kingswood, The Van Dyke Forum in Fishponds Road, Emersons Green in Westerleigh Road, The Posset Cup in Harbour Road, Portishead and The Glassmaker in Crown Glass Place, Nailsea
