The Mamma Mia! musical is coming to Manchester

Fans may know the story from 2008’s Mamma Mia! The Movie, which became the highest grossing live-action musical film of all time. It has an all-star cast that included Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, and has become a firm favourite among ABBA fans and musical-lovers alike.

Musical fans could also get tickets for Singin’ In The Rain, which is on at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre now. Tickets cost from £15, with the show running until January 25.

The musical was adapted from the 1952 film of the same name, and features well known songs that musical fans will love. Make ‘em laugh, Good Morning, and the title tune Singin’ In The Rain are all big hitters from this show.

Another musical with tickets on sale is Mean Girls, which is being performed at Manchester’s Opera House from February 23 to March 7, with tickets starting at £29. The musical – based on the 2004 film – was written by an award-winning team which includes comedian Tina Fey.

ATG Tickets has received a series of 5 star reviews on Trustpilot, with one praising its disability scheme. As part of a longer review, they said: “ATG are simply amazing.

“I didn’t realise they had a disability scheme, I contacted them as my daughter has ADHD and ASC as well as a rare autoimmune condition… She is an avid musical theatre fan and we can now afford to go and enjoy shows together making incredible memories. I can’t thank ATG enough for all they have done and their support.”

Another wrote: “Really helpful in finding us the most appropriate seats for the Paddington Musical.” A third said: “Madaline went overboard to help us with an accessible booking for 2 x wheelchair users to see Wicked The Musical.”

However, one reviewer said that although the show was “excellent,” they found the music “rather too loud”. And one said the “story was a little absurd at times,” but added that the still enjoyed the “great dancing, acting and singing”.
