Three men held on suspicion of drug dealing after gunshots were fired in Stratford Road in Birmingham

Gunshots were fired near a junction of a busy Birmingham street with a man injured and three men arrested.
It happened near the junction of Stratford Road and Durham Road in Sparkhill shortly before 7.30pm yesterday, Saturday, December 27.
One man was injured by flying shrapnel, while a vehicle was also damaged.

Video on social media showed a number of police cars at the scene and police tape across Durham Road at its junction with Stratford Road.
West Midlands Police officers rushed to the scene and said a number of men were trying to flee the scene.
But a ‘quantity of cannabis’ was seized, along with some cash and drug dealing suspects were arrested.
Three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were all arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We’re investigating after gunshots were fired near the junction of Stratford Road and Durham Road, Birmingham, at just before 7.25pm yesterday.
“One man was found with a minor injury which is suspected of being caused from bits of shrapnel. Damage was caused to a vehicle.
“Officers were quickly on the scene and during our immediate enquiries a number of men tried to make off.”

The statement continued: “We recovered a quantity of cannabis and cash and three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. They’re currently in custody for questioning.
