Gill, the Test and ODI skipper, is expected to play the January 3 and 6 games for Punjab, who take on Sikkim and Goa on those days in Jaipur. Punjab, clubbed with powerhouse Mumbai in Group C, are in fourth place with two wins from three games. He will have to leave the state side soon to join the Indian team, which is expected to assemble in Baroda on January 7-8 for the first ODI against New Zealand (January 11).
