Luis Diaz risked the wrath of some Liverpool supporters after he shared a new music video which features a Manchester United poster on his bedroom wall.
Diaz has seemingly taken the decision to branch out into music, after launching a YouTube channel called Luis Diaz Music earlier this week.
The former Liverpool star’s first song, titled ‘La Promesa’ – which translates to ‘The Promise’ – was released on the channel a few days ago, and features Diaz singing from his childhood bedroom about his journey from being a young boy in Colombia to playing for some of the biggest soccer teams in the world. On the wall of his childhood bedroom is a poster of Cristiano Ronaldo playing for United during the Portuguese’s first spell at Old Trafford.

Other soccer legends to appear on the wall include Lionel Messi, Pele and Carlos Valderrama. Speaking a few years ago, Diaz named Messi among the players he looked up to as a youngster.
“A reference point for me was always Ronaldinho, I really liked him a lot,” Diaz said. “I always tried to be similar to him. I loved the way he was on the ball. I loved the way he enjoyed playing football and also did it with a smile on his face, so I tried to identify myself with him.
“Obviously you’ve got Messi, you’ve got Neymar – there are other players too that I look towards, but those were the three as a kid that I really looked up to.”

Meanwhile, Diaz took to Instagram to explain his decision to release a song. “Music is one of my hobbies and a way of expressing myself from the heart, something I do with great love and respect for the art,” Diaz explained.
“This project was born out of passion, from enjoying the process and connecting with you from another place.”
He added: “This song comes from the bottom of my heart, from the most sincere gratitude for what we have built together.
“It’s the result of a long journey of faith, work, and love; a path where God has worked, and where my family has fought with me and for me. Everything I am, and everything I have today, is thanks to that.”
Diaz left Liverpool in the summer to join Bayern Munich, and has started his career in Bavaria brilliantly, registering 13 goals and seven assists in 22 appearances.
