The owners of a popular food van which has been hailed for some of the ‘best jacket spuds’ have teased big plans for the coming months.

Despite only launching in September from a van located outside a business centre in Oldham, Hustle N Spud has gained a big reputation for their twists on the humble jacket potato. Run by brothers Shazad and Shamsu Miah, some of their popular creations include chicken curry, Donner Stir Fry, and Salt and Pepper Chicken, but they also serve some of the usual classic crowd-pleasers like cheese and beans and tuna mayo.

In October, their Full English Breaky jacket potato – featuring cheese, eggs, tomatoes, sausages, mushrooms, beans and turkey bacon – was even praised by Spudman, a popular Jacket Potato seller from Tamworth who regularly goes viral online. Responding to one of their TikTok posts, the content creator commented: “Looks amazing.”

One of their posts, showing off their rotating daily flavours, has gone viral itself with over 330,000 views since October. Commenting on the video, one person commented: “That honey chicken looks unreal mate.” Another said: “Omg, wow looks banging. Superb work!” One other wrote: “They have to be the best toppings I’ve ever seen a spud van produce. they look insanely good.”

Now situated on Mars Street, the brothers also sell rice boxes at their van and trailer in addition to their jacket potato specials. Earlier in 2025, the pair announced they were in ‘the works’ of expanding their street food empire with a second spot in Ashton-under-Lyne. Little is known about the second location, but it’s expected to open in the coming months alongside a new Hustle N Cream dessert side business.

At the time, Shazad and Shamsu said: “We can’t thank you enough for the amazing support since we’ve opened – you’ve truly helped us make this dream come to life.” Over the festive period, the brothers have helped raise money for a number of charities and local organisations. On December 28, they hosted a Day of Giving event which, for nine hours, saw £2 from each meal donated towards Unity Aid’s Sudan Emergency Appeal.

Posting as part of an end-of-year round-up, the brothers reflected on the success of their spud van teasing that more was in the works. They wrote: “What a journey this has been. Building this spud business from the ground up with my brothers and seeing how far we’ve come — none of this would be possible without you, our amazing customers. Thank you for the constant support. We truly wouldn’t be here without you. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And trust us… we’re only getting started.”

The post confirmed the Ashton second location and the Hustle N Cream side project, as well as a ‘3rd location incoming’. “On to bigger things in the new year,” the post concluded. Shazad and Shamsu have since also revealed they have plans to franchise the business too. In a separate post, the pair said they had been ‘overwhelmed’ with enquiries from people wanting to ‘share in the success’ of the company.

Hustle N Spud is on Mars Street, Oldham, OL9 6LY. Open Wednesday to Monday 12pm to 8pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 9pm.
