The Masked Singer fans believe they’ve exposed Arctic Fox as a Strictly Come Dancing legend.

The seventh season of the hit ITV guessing game returned on Sunday (January 4), with six new characters taking to the stage.

The episode began with Arctic Fox, with fans claiming to have worked out their identity within seconds of them singing, despite the star disguising their speaking voice.

“Arctic Fox is Anton Du Beke,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), with another adding: “That’s Anton Du Beke!”

A third said: “Arctic Fox is 100% Anton Du Beke, I’d recognise that voice anywhere!” with another similarly sharing: “Anton Du Beke is 100% arctic fox and he’s gone way up in my estimation actually. High camp, I hope he wins!!”

A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “I have a feeling Arctic Fox is @TheAntonDuBeke, not only has he had previous singing experience but he has a puppy called Fox and a book called CodeName Foxtrot. Then the Arctic starts with A and so does Anton?? Am I going crazy??”

The judging panel – Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Maya Jama – shared different ideas, with guesses including Glenn Close, Bimini Bon Boulash, Adam Lambert and Queen Camilla.

In the clue package, Arctic Fox said that they were prepared to “dazzle and delight” and revealed that they “always expect the red carpet treatment”, which could relate to Strictly.

They added: “This Arctic Fox has sharp claws when needed.” The character also shared that they have spent years perfecting their craft, whether in front of a camera or behind the scenes, as well as showcasing a jar with “food for hungry bears” written on it. Could viewers have already guessed the character correctly?

Tonight’s episode also saw performances from Conker, Toastie, Tea Bag, Yak and Monkey Business.

The debut episode, which aired on Saturday night (January 3), saw performances from Sloth, Can of Worms, Gargoyle, Disc Jockey and Moth. At the end of the night, Disc Jockey and Gargoyle found themselves in the bottom two after receiving the least amount of votes from the audience.

The judges voted to save Gargoyle, meaning that Disc Jockey became the first star to be eliminated, with The One Show host Alex Jones soon being unmasked.

“I’ve had a lot of fun. We love this programme as a family and I just thought to do it for the children would be wonderful. It’s the most bizarre experience of my life, but I’ve loved it, thank you,” Alex shared with host Joel Dommett.

Speaking to her children down the camera, the presenter concluded: “Teddy, Kit and Annie, this was for you. I hope you loved it. Love you.”

This weekend has also seen the show introduce its first-ever live band, with popstar Anne-Marie and Matt Lucas taking centre stage as Goldfish and Emperor Penguin.
