Emmerdale fans ‘confirmed’ a link to Ray Walters death as Graham Foster returned from the dead in the Corriedale crossover.

Viewers have been waiting for the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale to crossover for months, with Corriedale offering one night of explosive drama to celebrate the shakeup in ITV’s schedule.

It was nothing short of fireworks, as the multiple car pile-up ended in devastation for some, and sent shockwaves through the rest of the beloved casts on either side of the Pennines.

After the crash, traffic started to build, and a hooded figure was spotted sitting in a van. An anonymous woman was then shown tied up in the back of said van as the chaos played out.

The woman managed to eventually escape and was caught by Corrie’s Kit Green who tried to help her as he told her he was from the police. It was then that the hooded figure was revealed as the viewers were taken to the hospital after the devastation occurred.

Joe Tate lay there in the hospital bed after becoming injured in the incident, and the mysterious individual watched from close by. As the camera panned, it was Graham Foster taking a phone call as he watched Joe.

Viewers were left in shock, as Graham was last seen six years ago when his death scenes aired in a “whodunnit” style after he made a village of enemies in the weeks leading up to his demise.

Graham arrived in Emmerdale back in 2017 as Joe’s right-hand man when he was under the alias of Tom Waterhouse. Graham was helping Joe take out revenge on those he felt had wronged him after the death of his father, Chris Tate. He became somewhat of a father figure to Joe, and was also the ex-husband of Cheryl Foster and Kim Tate, as well as the boyfriend of Rhona Goskirk.

Graham helped Joe flee the country after he was attacked by Cain Dingle, letting him believe that Joe had been killed following the altercation. Although his relationship with Kim Tate blossomed when she was released from prison, it ended and he struck up a new relationship with Rhona.

However, he met a deadly end after being killed off by Rhona Goskirk’s ex-husband and rapist Pierce Harris hit him over the head with a torch following a battle that involved Graham falling off a cliff. His “death” resulted in a “whodunnit” for several episodes after he had made multiple enemies in the village leading up to the tragedy.

A flashback eventually showed Graham’s perspective of the night, with Pierce having been the one to end his life – or so viewers have been made to believe over the last six years.

Now, very much alive and stood in the hospital, some Emmerdale fans couldn’t wait to stick their teeth into why he could have made his return, and how he’s not really dead.

On a Reddit thread, u/RevolutionaryElk7253 suggested he could have something to do with Ray’s death, perhaps helping Rhona out with the mystery phone call she made, and said: “I’m wondering if he has something to do with helping Rhona out”

u/significant_hold3974 replied: “Yes! That is a good theory as her and Marlon dont seem to be on the same page with whatever they are hiding!”.

As viewers will recall, in the Emmerdale episode prior to Corriedale, Ray was seen dead after someone in the village killed him. In a “whodunnit” style, there are many suspects for his sudden death.

With the mystery woman tied up in the back of Graham’s van, and Rhona having made a mystery call for help, could Graham have killed Ray for his ex having some link to Celia Daniels’ human trafficking scheme?
