We’ve only just counted down to 2026, but it’s already been a pretty busy year. In the tech industry, much of the news is coming from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which officially opens today (January 6) and has already mostly kicked off.

Yesterday was press day, which saw many companies host press conferences to showcase their announcements. You can scroll down through our liveblog below to get a recap of all that happened on Monday. Lego unveiled its new Smart Brick technology, and NVIDIA showed off its latest AI announcements for autonomous cars. Even before that, on Sunday night, Samsung held its First Look presentation, where it unveiled products across its home entertainment and appliance portfolios.

Now that the dust has settled on most of the press conferences, it’s time for us to get in-person demos of everything we can. Engadget has a team on the ground that’s been hard at work, covering pre-show events, checking out new gadgets in person and writing them up all for you to read wherever you are.

Our liveblog will continue over the course of the week, starting at about 8AM ET every morning, and we’ll share all the biggest news (and also maybe some medium and small tidbits) as it happens. You’ll also get insight and commentary on other goings-on here in Las Vegas, whether that be random celebrity sightings, odd weather phenomena or snack evaluations. Keep this page open, and you might just feel like you’re here at CES 2026 with us!
