An Edinburgh man claims his trail camera has captured shots of the Loch Ness Monster. Roland Watson, 63, captured three snaps of what he believes to be Nessie on his trail camera on the western shore of Loch Ness.
The images show a large hump about a metre long, with a white line about a metre ahead of it, he said. The pictures, taken in succession about a second apart, show the illusive creature – which Ronald believes is a large rare fish – moving through the water.
The camera snaps three images back-to-back every seven minutes, he said, but no video. The dad-of-two has been a Nessie enthusiast since he was a child, and began writing a blog on the subject about 15 years ago.
He strapped the camera to a tree near the village of Inverfarigaig, Scotland in May, and usually leaves it up for months at a time. Roland, a software engineer from Edinburgh, said: “I was hoping to get pictures of something unusual and I certainly have. I can’t think of any other explanation for this.
“The hump seems to be a body and the white line may be a head, and who knows what else is below the surface. You can see it’s moving left to right.
“It’s not a definitive picture but it’s the best image I’ve ever seen of Nessie.”
The ‘Loch Ness monster’ has been thought to be a plesiosaur, and even an evil spirit, but Roland believes it’s most likely to be a giant rare fish. He said: “If it was anything Jurassic Park we’d know because it would be eating everybody.
“Whatever it is it lies low. I think a big exotic fish is the most likely explanation.”
