With rehearsals commencing soon, the first wave of countries have started their journey to the Eurovision 2025 host city, Basel.

Leading the way was Ukraine, whose delegation departed from Kyiv yesterday on train. This morning, they were joined by several other countries, including Iceland, Poland, and Slovenia, whose teams shared their farewell moments on social media as they left their home countries.

The first official rehearsals for participating artists begin tomorrow, following weeks of preparations and stand-in rehearsals behind the scenes. Taking to the stage at the Arena Plus will be the first seven countries competing in Semi-Final 1: Iceland, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Ukraine, Sweden, and Portugal. Each delegation will have 40 minutes to rehearse, with sessions running from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Iceland

VÆB and the Icelandic delegation began their trip to Basel this morning, boarding the VÆB bus to Keflavík International Airport.

Poland

Justyna Steczkowska and the Polish team departed this morning from Warsaw Chopin Airport.

Slovenia

Klemen, accompanied by his wife Mojca Fatur and the Slovenian delegation, flew out of Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport this morning en route to Basel.

Eurovision 2025

Switzerland earned the honor of hosting Eurovision 2025 after Nemo triumphed at the 2024 contest with their song “The Code”. The entry scored an impressive 591 points, with 365 from the jury and 226 from the televote, securing Switzerland’s first victory since 1988.

The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Basel on May 13, 15, and 17, 2025.
