Plans for a £1.2M refurbishment of Woking Leisure Centre have been announced.
Everyone Active has given details of a project to upgrade the gym and refurbish exercise rooms in a multi-phased set of works. The investment is set to bring about changes to several areas of the centre.
This includes a brand-new group cycling studio, with new bikes, upgraded lighting and music which will mean that a wider variety of sessions can take place there, both virtual and instructor-led classes.
Other group exercise studios will be made over, and the gym will be filled with new fitness equipment as well.
Work is set to begin in early 2026 and conclude in March 2026.
Members have been directed to use nearby gyms at Woking Sportsbox and Eastwood Leisure Centre at no additional cost while the work is being carried out.
Some group exercise classes may also be located during the refurbishment period, to alternative locations in the building.
Any changes in location will be reflected in the Everyone Active app/website when booking.
Currently Woking Leisure Centre has a 120-station, three group fitness studios, a 10-court sports hall as well as soft play and an inflatable obstacle course.
There are also artificial pitches, squash courts and a cafe
Once the gym has been redesigned, gym users will be able to book a free induction for the new equipment via the Everyone Active app.
