Christine McGuinness has confirmed she will no longer be appearing on the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating.
The reality star was recently announced as part of the line-up for this year’s edition of the Channel 4 reality show, and had already jetted off to Ibiza begin filming with the rest of the cast.
However, she posted an Instagram Story this week to confirm that she has now quit the series, saying she feels it’s “too soon” for her to date so publicly following her divorce from Paddy McGuinness.
“I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions, but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me,” she wrote.
“They’ve said the door is always open for me, which I’m so grateful for, but for now I’m returning home to my family.”

A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson also issued a statement, saying: “We have loved having Christine on the show and completely respect her feelings and decision to return home and have told her that the door is always open for her in the future at the agency.”
In July 2022, Christine and Paddy jointly announced their separation after 11 years of marriage.
“This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children,” the former couple said at the time.
“We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”

Other celebrities taking part in the year’s series of Celebs Go Dating include Love Island‘s Olivia Hawkins, Too Hot To Handle’s Louis Russell, S Club 7 star Jon Lee, and Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona.
It’s also been confirmed that The Chase star Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett will walk through the agency doors at a later date.
For the first time in the show’s history, the series will whisk the celebs away to Ibiza during their first week.
Celebs Go Dating airs on E4.
