Rochdale Council’s Chief Executive James Binks had resigned just a month after being suspended over allegations of sexual impropriety

Binks was suspended after it was revealed a confidential Manchester City Council report that found he acted inappropriately towards young female staff while at the council

The report claimed he inappropriately touched and grinded” against a graduate trainee 20 years his junior while assistant CEO

In a statement the council said:

“James Binks has resigned from his position as chief executive of the council. A recruitment process to select a new chief executive will now begin.”
