A man wanted on suspicion of murder following the death of a young dad in Bury has fled the UK, the Manchester Evening News can now reveal.
Brandon Lee Porter-Kershaw, 19, was pronounced dead after he was struck by a red Audi on Porritt Street in Bury on May 19 last year. He suffered serious injuries and later died after the collision.
An inquest opening previously heard how the Audi ‘accelerated’ and ‘turned into’ Brandon as he stood in the street with two friends. The two friends managed to jump out of the way, but the car struck and killed Brandon, prompting a major murder probe by detectives at Greater Manchester Police.
‘Gentle and kind’ Brandon, who had a young daughter, sustained ‘catastrophic’ head injuries in the collision, the inquest previously heard. One man, aged 38, was previously arrested on suspicion of murder but was released on bail.

But appeals quickly surfaced to trace another man, Tino Williams, who was also wanted in connection with the murder investigation. Police have confirmed that Williams was wanted on suspicion of murder.
Pictures were circulated of the 23-year-old, including a mugshot and CCTV images of him, in the weeks following Brandon’s killing. Anyone who saw Williams was urged to call 999 immediately as the urgent appeals were issued.
The Manchester Evening News understands he has since fled the UK amid the ongoing search. It’s thought he may have left within days of the incident. GMP’s Force Critical Wanted Unit continues to now lead the manhunt for the suspect despite him being out of the country.

Exactly how he was able to flee the country while wanted by authorities is not known. Greater Manchester Police provided no other updates on the case.
Brandon was described fondly by his loved ones as a ‘ray of sunshine’ in the days following his death and that they were ‘truly shocked and heartbroken’ by the sudden loss of the young dad.
“We are all truly shocked and heartbroken by the sudden loss of Brandon. He was a gentle, kind-hearted young man whose warmth and social nature touched everyone around him,” a statement read.

“Brandon was taken far too soon, and his passing has left a deep void in all our lives. Brandon was a devoted dad to his young daughter, who he loved deeply. His family meant everything to him, and the bond he shared with his mum was incredibly special, they were best friends.
