Manchester United and Brighton are gearing up for a challenging FA Cup third round match. Following the recent sacking of Ruben Amorim, Darren Fletcher will take charge of his second United game as both clubs enter the historic cup competition.
The FA Cup represents the last opportunity for United or Brighton to clinch a trophy this season. Several United players will be hoping to channel the spirit of their 2024 FA Cup victory, while Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler will aim to win the famous cup for the first time in the Seagulls’ history.
It remains to be seen whether United legend Fletcher will opt to shuffle his squad after their 2-2 stalemate with Burnley earlier this week. The game will also mark the interim boss’ first home match in charge.
On the other hand, Brighton demonstrated their quality on Wednesday night, securing a draw against Manchester City. Here’s everything you need to know about this FA Cup third round showdown.
When is Man Utd vs Brighton?
Manchester United are set to welcome Brighton on Sunday, January 11, for an exciting FA Cup third round clash at Old Trafford. The match is slated to begin at 4.30pm GMT.

The match will be aired live across TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports 2 and TNT Sports Ultimate. Those with a valid TNT Sports subscription will also have the option to watch the action live on mobiles, tablets and laptops.
Pre-match coverage will kick off on TNT Sports 2 at 3.30pm and from 4pm on TNT Sports Ultimate. Following Arsenal’s earlier cup tie at Portsmouth, TNT Sports 1 is set to switch to the United game at kick-off time.

TNT Sports customers can catch a live stream of the United vs Brighton match on the discovery+ app. The app should be suitable for most smart TVs, mobile devices and tablets.

Live radio coverage will be available on talkSPORT from 4pm. As the rights holder for the game, talkSPORT will provide live commentary from Old Trafford.

Alternatively, BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio Sussex will also offer minute-by-minute commentary. However, this service will only be accessible to those in the respective local areas.
Highlights
Match highlights will be featured as part of an FA Cup edition of Match of the Day on Sunday night. The programme will air on BBC One at 10.30pm.
As the TV broadcaster, TNT Sports will also upload a highlights package on YouTube shortly after the final whistle. Additionally, both teams involved will post highlights on their respective club channels.
