St Helens

Whilst York Knights have been busy on the recruitment front, they have also had a heap of departures, as they mould their squad to be that of Super League standard.

Announced this week, the club have brought back Nikau Williams to the club, as well as signing Will Roberts from St Helens and Xavier Va’a from Sydney Roosters. But, all those incomings come at a cost, and it means that other players have to depart.

The likes of Conor Fitzsimmons, Joe Brown and Bailey Antrobus are just some of the names to have exited the LNER Community Stadium this off-season, and it seems as though two more faces have departed the club, but only one of them has been confirmed.

Becoming the latest player to sign for Newcastle Thunder, young winger Myles Harrison makes the move to the North East for 2026. As part of a partnership between Thunder and the Knights, Harrison joins Antrobus, Sam Cook and Brad Ward, among others to move to Graham Steadman’s side.

York Knights and former Leeds Rhinos man spotted in amateur side’s Challenge Cup squad

Though his future hasn’t been announced by the Knights, it seems as though young centre Levi Edwards has departed the club completely, and is back to playing rugby at community level.

Edwards, who came through the system at Leeds Rhinos, but never made a senior appearance, and moved to York on a three-year contract ahead of 2023.

His career so far has been marred by a two-year injury layoff, but after being reported to have interest from Super League clubs at the start of 2025, it is a shock to see him back in the amateur game.

He was set to line-up for Dewsbury Moor in their Challenge Cup game against Stanningley this weekend, before it was cancelled due to bad weather. The rescheduled game, which Edwards is expected to be involved in, will take place on Saturday 17 January.
