Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) is now recruiting Regional Control Centre Firefighters, offering an opportunity to play a vital role at the heart of emergency response operations.

Based at NIFRS Regional Control Centre in Lisburn, Firefighter Control personnel are the first point of contact for people in emergency situations. They answer and process 999 calls, provide vital fire survival guidance to callers, and coordinate the mobilisation of Fire Appliances and resources to a wide range of emergency incidents across Northern Ireland.

Working in the Regional Control Centre is fast-paced, challenging and rewarding. Each call is different, requiring calmness under pressure, quick thinking and excellent communication skills. Firefighter Control personnel play a key role in keeping our community safe, working as part of a team that supports Firefighters on the ground and the public in times of emergencies.

Successful applicants will undertake a minimum 10-week training programme with opportunities for career progression through roles such as, Crew Commander, Watch Commander and Station Commander Control.

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in our community every day by being the reassuring voice on the line when people need help most.
