Lab11 is the place for serious electronic music nights. Starting life as a single warehouse restoration project, it’s become one of Birmingham’s best clubs. There are five spaces, an outdoor terrace and an outdoor area underneath the city’s railway arches. And the bookings? They’re on point. Franky Wah, Objekt, East End Dubs, Prospa and Yung Singh have all passed through Lab11, and its weekly party – AFTA DARK – is a must-visit. Spinning house and techno all night long, it takes place in The Garden, an Alice in Wonderland-esque space that mixes an industrial feel with lush greenery. Fancy going big? Head to Luna Springs. It’s a 3,000 capacity, outdoor venue in the heart of Digbeth, Birmingham’s creative area. You’ll find lots of bottomless brunch and bingo events here, but for ravers, it really comes alive in the summertime. UK garage event, Frequency Festival, is a yearly fixture at Luna Springs, bringing the likes of DJ EZ, Smokey Bubblin’B and So Solid Crew legends Lisa Maffia and Romeo to the stage. There’s also R&B Lovers, which takes over Luna Springs each year for a bonanza of, you guessed it, classic r&b!

Sector 57 always brings the goods. One of the best clubs in Birmingham, it’s located in Digbeth. With multiple spaces, there’s plenty of variety across the venue and Boho Beer Garden, the outdoor courtyard area, comes alive in the summer. You can soak up the sun at a day party or head to an indoor, nighttime event where the soundsystem is cranked high.

If you love getting lost in the music, look no further than XOYO Birmingham. It’s got three spaces to dance, XOYO, A/V and the Roof Garden. XOYO features immersive, intricate lighting and is the place to hear the biggest and best tunes. A/V, as the name suggests, combines music, visual design, and high-quality sound. Effects are beamed onto the walls, while stage lights move with the music. The Roof Garden offers a nearly 360-degree view of Birmingham’s skyline. Club Colette is all about one thing: going back to the source. True, there are huge venues in the city, but there’s something about quality bookings in a small club with two rooms that gets the excitement flowing. Kepler, Mella Dee and Tristan da Cunha have all wowed the Club Colette crowd, but the music is by no means limited. You can catch dubstep, grime, bass, hip-hop and afro-house here, so fans of all shades of electronic music will find something to dance to.

From the minute you turn up at Suki10c, you know you’re in for a banging night. The venue is decorated with graffiti on the outside, making it feel like you’re about to walk into the maddest house party. Inside isn’t too bad, either. You can hear uncompromising hard techno, mind-bending drum and bass, grime, dubstep and jungle at the venue, with scene legends, cult figures and new talent gracing the decks across the weekend. The Tunnel Club sits underneath the arches of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, bringing a storied history with it. It’s the home of legendary techno night House of God, where legends like Surgeon and Regis have delivered some of the hardest techno to music lovers throughout the years. You’ll also find current techno talent, bassline events and drum and bass nights at The Tunnel Club. Of course, it’s all delivered on a massive soundsystem where you can feel every throb of bass.

Located inside a former foundry, Forum Digbeth is one of the city’s larger venues. Opened in summer 2025 to replace the now-closed Forum Birmingham, it’s got a no-frills, industrial setting; a cracking soundsystem and a shedload of people losing it to the best selectors around. In the past, the club has hosted DnB Allstars, Denon Reed and underground collectives like Big Skank Audio. Forum Digbeth recently unveiled a brand new space, The Annexe, doubling both the capacity and the venue’s reputation as a premier place to dance.

Club PST – which stands for People Stand Together – is all about uniting people through the medium of sound. Set across three floors, you’ll find resident DJs bringing the heat to weekly parties, spinning everything from house, amapiano, bassline and dancehall. But that’s not all. For those looking for rumbling bass lines and pure gunfinger material, you’ll find dubstep, drum and bass, jungle and 140 nights at Club PST. Nightingale Club is essentially three venues in one, hosting its own events and in housing two more iconic LGBTQ+ clubs in Birmingham, The Village Inn and The Loft. It’s also the longest-running queer club in the city, first opening its doors in the 60s. At The Nightingale Club, you’ll find three weekly club nights, each playing a mix of music from pop, r&b and dancehall to drum and bass, UK garage and hyperpop. Vinyl heads, get on down to Dead Wax. Part pub, part club, it serves up delicious pizza, craft beers and some of the best club nights in Birmingham. Records are at the heart of the venue’s ethos, with their events regularly showcasing some of the best local crate diggers. So, expect to hear that one house tune you’ve been dying to snag on wax, techno anthems from before you were born and rarer than rare disco. Hare and Hounds is just iconic. After all, it’s the venue that legendary Birmingham band UB40 played their first gig at, and it’s hosted a heap of names over the years. A grade II listed building, it first opened its doors in 1820. Nowadays, you’ll find drum and bass and jungle nights, reggae and ska events and house and techno blowouts from established and local talent.
