There are two Primark cafes in Scotland, located in Glasgow‘s Braehead Shopping Centre and in the bustling Princes Street branch in Edinburgh.
The eateries have gone down a treat with fans who flock to experience themed food and drink and quirky decor inspired by popular franchises including Stranger Things, Shrek and The Simpsons.
But the retailer has confirmed that the in-store cafes located in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and one in Birmingham are set to close.
It follows a TikTok video posted by a member of staff alleging they are facing redundancy.

The clip shows three employees wiping down tables and working behind the counter in a Primark cafe with the caption: “Us because we are getting made redundant and will never see each other again.
“RIP Primark cafe.”
A spokesperson for Primark said: “We know how important our stores are to our customers and we’re constantly reviewing them to ensure we provide the best shopping experience.
“As we’ve expanded our own product offering, we are adapting our spaces so that each store is best set up to cater to local customer preferences.
“As part of this, we have been reviewing our in-store concessions and considering how we maximise and best use the space we have in our stores.
“Over the next 12 months customers will start to see the closure of some concessions. These decisions are being informed by the size and location of each store.”
Primark has confirmed that this includes the branches in Glasgow’s Braehead Shopping Centre, as well as on Edinburgh’s Princes Street, Birmingham High Street and Belfast’s Royal Avenue.
The spokesperson continued: “As this will be managed over the next 12 months and beyond, no Primark colleagues are currently impacted.
“However, we appreciate it may impact some of our partners and we’re committed to managing this process with care and transparency, supporting them throughout.”
Previously, Primark has transformed its Scottish cafes into Shrek’s swamp, SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Bikini Bottom and a Hello Kitty paradise.
Festive shoppers enjoyed a Grinch delight during Christmas as the eateries were decked out to honour the famous holiday-hating movie character.
While in January, the in-store cafes in Glasgow and Edinburgh received a nostalgic makeover in ode to iconic cartoon The Simpsons.
