PRETORIA – Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen will update on the status of foot and mouth disease.

He will outline the strategy and timelines for vaccination to achieve a disease-free livestock industry.

The briefing comes as the disease continues to spread in various parts of the country.

KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and the North West have been most affected.

The government is expected to begin vaccinating animals next month.
