Sheffield Wednesday are having an absolute horror show of a season, sitting at the bottom of the Championship table.
So far this campaign, the club have been docked 18 points as part of severe financial issues.
The club entered administration in October 2025 after failing to pay wages to btoh players and staff, and owing to HMRC.
The breaches in turn lead to the club having their massive points deduction, seeing them now sitting in 24th overall, also facing a transfer embargo.
One saving grace for the club this season was the loan spell of Harry Amass, who’s routinely been delivering against the odds.
However, the Manchester United defender has now returned to Carrington and is set to head out on loan once more.
That doesn’t mean Sheffield Wednesday’s links with United are over though, with another youngster now in their sights.
The Guardian has reported that The Owls are now looking to midfielder Jack Moorhouse, currently on loan with Leyton Orient in League One.
They aren’t the only interested party however, as Bolton Wanderers are also eyeing up the talented United academy graduate.
Jack Moorhouse has made 22 appearances this season for Leyton Orient, grabbing his only goal for the club in the EFL Trophy against Peterborough in September.
Whilst the youngster has only one goal to his name, he’s also registered two assists, once in the EFL Trophy, and once in the league.
Although there’s currently no plans known for him to end his loan spell with Leyton, a chance to play in the Championship could change the situation.
Already today, Habeeb Ogunneye and Joe Hugill have both been confirmed as the latest in a run of United loanees returning to their parent club.
As such, Moorhouse being recalled wouldn’t come as any major surprise.
