As we enter a new year, many of us are also looking forward to what’s to come in 2026. And if you’re planning your travel for the year, then TripAdvisor is here to help. They’ve looked back over “12 months of review data from Tripadvisor’s global travel community” to crown the winners of the “2026 Travellers’ Choice® Awards: Best of the Best Destinations”.

For 2026, TripAdvisor is recognising 270 destinations across 60 countries around the world. They’re diving deep, with winners and recommendations for everything from Trending Destinations to Culture & History Destinations, Food Destinations, Solo Travel Destinations, and more. And none other than our very own capital, London, has been named as the best food destination in the world.

The Best Food Destinations In The World

Say what you will about English food culture, it’s simply impossible to deny that London’s dining scene is incredible. Thanks to our melting pot of cultures, with people from all over the world living here, you can get virtually any food you want in our city. From bottomless brunch to afternoon tea, from pub grub to wine bars and street food, London has it all.

It’s no wonder, then, that London topped TripAdvisor’s list of the Best of the Best Food Destinations in the world. But what about the rest of the world? The top 10 list featured the following cities:

  2. Dubai, UAE
  3. Rome, Italy
  4. Hong Kong
  5. Paris, France
  6. Majorca, Spain
  7. Doha, Qatar
  8. Crete, Greece
  9. Bangkok, Thailand
  10. Marrakech, Morocco

Other ‘Best of the Best’ titles for London

It wasn’t just London’s popularity with foodies that saw us being singled out for praise. TripAdvisor ranked London as one of the best destinations in the world under a wealth of categories. As well as being the best food destination in the world, London is:

  • The #2 Destination in the world
    • Bali took the top spot, which London held last year
  • The #1 Destination in the UK
  • The #3 Best Solo Destination in the World
  • The #2 Best Culture Destination in the World
