Bristol will be hotter than a number of popular sun-soaked destinations across Europe this weekend, including the Spanish island of Ibiza and Albufeira in Portugal. This is according to the Met Office’s weather forecast.

The first signs of summer are hitting the UK at the moment, with a number of towns and cities up and down the country experiencing a bit of a ‘mini heatwave’.

So much so we’ve seen the hottest day of the year this week, with conditions so scorching that even the London Eye broke down in the heat on Thursday (May 1).

After what has been a wet and miserable start to 2025 as a whole, it’s important Bristolians lap up the sun as they get their sunglasses at the ready for what is set to be a sizzling weekend in the south west of England. Bristol Live has a breakdown of everything you need to know.
