Young people and their families are invited to attend the New Year New Start Careers Fair on Saturday 24 January at West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
The free careers fair, which runs from 9.30am to 2pm at The Hawthorns, Halfords Lane, will bring together a wide range of opportunities for young people who are considering their next steps after school or college or would like career inspiration and ideas.
Attendees will be able to explore apprenticeship vacancies, college courses, university degrees and training programmes, all in one place.
In addition, Connexions Sandwell careers advisers will be available throughout the event to offer independent careers information, advice and guidance. This will help young people and parents make informed decisions about future education and career pathways.
The careers fair is aimed at young people aged 14 to 18 (Years 10 to 13), unemployed young people and young people up the age of 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Councillor Harnoor Bhullar, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, said: “We want all our young people to have the best start in life and to help them on their career paths.
“As part of our Sandwell Story, launched last year, we’re supporting the workforce of tomorrow and helping young people to make it in Sandwell, offering a wide range of educational opportunities, apprenticeships, training and more.
“The New Year New Start event is ideal for those who already have a career goal in mind, as well as for young people who are still exploring their options and looking for inspiration and motivation.”
Attendance is free, but advance registration is required.
