Barry Connell’s gelding romped to a second Cheltenham Festival victory a month after jockey Michael O’Sullivan’s tragic passing. O’Sullivan was responsible for steering Marine Nationale to success in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle in 2023.

Marine Nationale could face a new rival for his crown in the form of Majborough, although Willie Mullins’ runner will need to improve his jumping. There’s also the little matter of Closutton’s Il Etait Temps to deal with.
