Marine Nationale scored an emotional victory in last term’s Queen Mother Champion Chase.
Barry Connell’s gelding romped to a second Cheltenham Festival victory a month after jockey Michael O’Sullivan’s tragic passing. O’Sullivan was responsible for steering Marine Nationale to success in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle in 2023.
Marine Nationale could face a new rival for his crown in the form of Majborough, although Willie Mullins’ runner will need to improve his jumping. There’s also the little matter of Closutton’s Il Etait Temps to deal with.

Queen Mother Champion Chase 2026 betting
Queen Mother Champion Chase odds are on paddypower.com and prices for the leading contenders can be seen on our snazzy widgets below.
Marine Nationale is the favourite with Paddy Power to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase as last season’s winner plots a course back to Cheltenham.
The Willie Mullins-trained Majborough, last year’s Arkle third, is next in our early betting despite questionable rounds of jumping in the Hilly Way and Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase in December.
Closutton stablemate Il Etait Temps has drifted to third in our antepost market after a heavy fall in the Clarence House. He had previously scored four times in a row over the minimum distance.
