Emergency crews raced to the scene of a collision near a school in Salford on Monday afternoon (January 19). It was reported a teenage girl had been struck by a vehicle on Weaste Lane.
Multiple police and ambulance vehicles were seen in attendance beside Buile Hill Park, near to St Luke’s C of E Primary School following the incident. It was reported the teenager had been hit by a car along the stretch of road.
The North West Ambulance Service were called to the scene and assessed the girl, a pedestrian, for injuries. It’s understood her injuries are described as non life-threatening.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed enquiries were ongoing and that no arrests had been made in connection with the crash. At least three police vehicles and an incident response unit were pictured at the same as children left nearby schools.
The incident blocked Weaste Lane and caused delays to bus services including to the 70 service to Eccles. The North West Ambulance Service has been approached for a statement.
