Three teenage boys have been arrested after a TV was stolen from a house. Police were called to Waller Street in Bootle at around 2.50pm on Monday, January 19, following reports three boys had been seen inside a house in the area.
Officers attended the address and found the front door open, with damage caused to furniture inside the property. After speaking to members of the public, officers were told the suspects had left the house carrying a television and were still believed to be nearby.
The boys were later spotted in an alleyway off Waller Street and ran from officers, but were stopped and detained at a nearby address where the television was recovered. Three boys, aged 13, 15 and 16, all from Bootle, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
They were taken to a Merseyside police station, where they remain in custody. Detective Inspector Sara Lang said: “Information from members of the public was key to the swift arrests made by our officers in Bootle yesterday.
“Burglaries like these can have a massive impact on the person and families affected as they have had their home invaded which is an awful experience to go through and can also impact residents who live nearby.
“I hope these three arrests show that we will continue to pursue any anti-social behaviour on our streets and bring offenders to justice to prevent further burglaries.
“Merseyside Police’s Winter of Action, taking place between 1 December and 31 January 2026, is a major policing push to keep our communities safe during and beyond the festive season by tackling crime, reassuring communities, and ensuring our streets are welcoming and safe for everyone.
“Please continue to come forward and tell us what you know so we can take action in your area.”
