The Indian Premier League has become much more competitive in recent years, with young talents trying their best to leave their marks in the tournament.
So it’s only natural that sometimes a player may get too excited, letting his emotions take the front seat.

The same happened with LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi, whose ‘notebook’ celebration right at the batter’s face didn’t sit well with the BCCI, leading to him receiving a hefty fine along with two demerit points.
The spinner repeated the celebration a second time during another game, this time on the ground. The BCCI didn’t let go of this, penalising him for the second time as well.

Now many in the cricket fraternity have come forward to protest against the Board’s unfair penalties on lesser-known players, when the big boys like Virat Kohli literally receive a ‘get out of jail free card’ even after hurling abuses towards other players.
While such rules are necessary to maintain the integrity of the game, their impartial implementation towards smaller players, even for the smallest of mistakes is a slap in the face of cricket.

The BCCI should get its act together and step up to either ensure equal and fair action for everyone or stop penalising players for stupid reasons altogether.
