Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has shared an exciting career update, saying she feels like she has “won the lottery”. While she’s known for her brilliant comments on TV alongside sister Izzi, outside of the show Ellie works as a hairdresser.
The star has now taken to Instagram to unveil a new project for her business – converting a 57-year-old caravan into a salon space, aka the “glamavan”.
Sharing a picture alongside a video tour of the vehicle, Ellie said she has been working on the project “since last spring”, having wanted to “create a private studio space to work in for a VERY long time”.
“At first I was considering a garage conversion, but turned out my garage wasn’t a suitable structure,” she explained in the caption. “Then I thought what about a garden room? Fast forward to me getting chickens and their enclosure takes up the prime real estate in the garden.”
Ellie said she did consider converting a bedroom, though partner Nat was against this, and when she’d lost all hope of a home space, she eventually came across the caravan that was “perfect” for her needs as it was “stripped back to nothing and ready for the scrap heap”.

The star went on to explain that the seller was also an “expert in restoring classic caravans to their former glory”, revealing: “This was one of his personal projects, that he had started and lost momentum with as other priorities took over. I felt like I had won the lottery.
“She was in storage in Loughborough and isn’t in a towable condition, so finding someone to transport her for a reasonable price took some time, but patience is a virtue (which I do not possess) and it bought me some time to build a carport on my drive as she needed to be kept under cover, because she’s currently not watertight either.”

“She finally arrived in September but until now, I haven’t had the opportunity to make any progress,” Ellie shared. “However all good things come to those who wait and good she will be.”
Working alongside a friend, Ellie plans to “create a showstopper from this humble piece of scrap metal”, and teased fans to “WATCH THIS SPACE”.
