A Birmingham fly-tipper caught in the act was shamed in public after having their Mercedes seized.
Birmingham City Council shared an image of the car on the back of a truck with a yellow sticker across the vehicle’s doors saying ‘seized from a fly-tipper’.
The authority warned it would not “tolerate” people who dump waste illegally.

“Dispose of waste legally or risk losing your vehicle,” warned the council, which said the fly-tipper was caught red-handed.
Writing on social media platform X, a spokesperson for the authority said: “Caught in the act.
“This vehicle was seized for fly-tipping – a blight on our communities and the environment.
“We won’t tolerate it. Dispose of waste legally or risk losing your vehicle.”

The council thanked West Midlands Police for taking action against the fly-tipper.
It added: “Fly-tipping is illegally dumped rubbish which can lead to a fine of up to £50,000 along with imprisonment.
“We will investigate dumped rubbish and may serve a legal notice to landowners to clear rubbish that attracts or harbours vermin.
“Where we have sufficient evidence we will prosecute fly-tippers.”
