Mindless yobs have damaged cars in a suspected ‘acid attack’ on a driveway in Solihull.

Two youths are caught on camera strolling up to cars on a drive in a road off Stratford Road in Hockley Heath in the early hours of Friday (January 23).

In footage seen by BirminghamLive, the duo are seen chucking a substance from a bottle on three vehicles, one a BMW, shortly before 2.15am.

They throw the liquid on the boot, both sides, roof and bonnet of one car, on the bonnet of the BMW and on the boot of a third car.

They then jog away and flee the scene.

They are both wearing hooded tops, with the hoods up. And both are wearing gloves.

The victim posted on Facebook and said: “Last night at 2.14am we had three cars badly damaged with acid on our driveways just off the Stratford Road by two young vandals.

“Please could I ask if anyone recognises either of the boys or has any CCTV footage of the Stratford Road either in the run up to 2.14am coming from Henley towards The Barn or after 2.14am going back in the direction of Henley.”

West Midlands Police officers are investigating the incident and are asking anyone with any information to come forward.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “We’re investigating after an unknown substance was sprayed on three cars parked on a drive in Hockley Heath.

“The cars were damaged at around 2.15am on Friday (January 23).

“Anyone with information is asked to get in touch on Live Chat via our website quoting: 20/122733/26.”
