While North America isn’t best-known for carp fishing, there are some huge fish in the States, and a UK angler has just landed one of the biggest ever!
Scott Lennox, originally from Shropshire, banked this 64lb 2oz common carp. Although the country’s official carp record is hard to track down, it’s believed to be around the 67lb mark.
Scott, who now lives in the US, caught the fish while targeting a 3,000-acre reservoir in California.
“Nobody knew this fish was in there, so to catch it from such a huge water is incredible,” he said.
“I’ve been targeting these low-stock venues since I moved here, but never did I expect a result like this.”
The fish was taken on a tiger nut soaked in betalin, and ESP rig components.
