For those keeping count, or not quite over the epic reunion tour, it’s been 65 days since Oasis last performed on stage. Bringing to an end their sold-out 41-date Oasis Live ’25 tour, the band played out their final show to thousands of fans in Sao Paolo.

Oasis reunited after 16 years last summer, kicking off the tour in Cardiff in July before a string of dates at Manchester’s Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium in London. The band then headed to Australia, Japan, South Korea, North and South America, and ended proceedings with two nights in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

As the tour drew to a close, rumours swirled about the possibility of more shows with fans across the world sharing their theories on when the rockers could announce more dates, including European gigs at Knebworth and the Etihad in Manchester.

Last month, frontman Liam Gallagher insisted Oasis wouldn’t be “doing anything” in 2026 despite fans demanding the band announce more shows. Replying to a fan on X at the time, the 53-year-old musician wrote: “We’re not doing anything in 2026 sorry (sic)”.

Liam – who, like Noel, is a big Manchester City fan – insisted the only major event in 2026 will be the football World Cup. He added: “Nothing going on next year except the WC. ITS (sic) NOT HAPPENING. (sic).”

In November, Oasis also announced they were embarking on a “period of reflection” after their comeback tour came to an end. They wrote on Instagram: “And so it came to pass.

“The most damaging pop cultural force in recent British history’ found its way into the hearts and minds of a new generation. From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City Of Angels, the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten. There will now be a pause for a period of reflection.”

However, fans of the band know that Liam Gallagher likes to tease fans on social media, especially on X. Yesterday (26 January), the frontman waded into the debate about Harry Styles tickets, which saw huge demand on ticket sites including Ticketmaster.

Pop sensation Harry Styles is embarking on a huge global tour later this year, with six nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in June, 2026, and tickets went on presale on Monday morning (January 26). As the first presale got underway on Monday, ticket prices were confirmed by Ticketmaster to range from £44.10 to £466.25 (including fees) with a per order handling fee of £2.95. Some fans took to social media to complain about the prices.

Deciding to get in on the action, Liam Gallagher teased fans writing: “HOW MUCH”, later telling his followers that he had 20 and that they were “not cheap”.

Fans took it as a chance to ask the rockstar when more tour dates would be coming, with Liam telling one X user: “When you have all calmed down”.

But eagle-eyed fans spotted another clue after a fan wrote to Liam: “i bet your gutted your not at the BRITS”. Liam quickly wrote back: “How to you know WERE not.”

Last summer it was confirmed Manchester will host The BRITs for the first time in the music awards show’s history in a huge two year deal. It will see the ceremony leave the capital for the first time in 48 years and make its way north in what is being described as a “massive coup for Greater Manchester”.

While the nominations were announced last week, all the performances have not yet been confirmed with some rumours suggesting Harry Styles may even play. Trailblazers Olivia Dean and Lola Young lead the nominations this year with five nods each in the list.

Oasis have performed at the BRITs on numerous occasions over the years, most notably in 1996 and 2007, and when they won awards in 1995. Famous appearances by the band included a chaotic rendition of “Roll With It” in 1996 and a performance to celebrate their Outstanding Contribution to Music award in 2007.
