West Leeds professional wildlife photographer Rosie Dutton is hoping that local people will vote for her entry in a nationwide competition.

Rosie’s shot shows a curious female fox cub captured with a wide-angle lens.

“This young fox had become comfortable around me,” she told WLD.

“I’d got to know her family, a mother, three cubs or kits along with an older sister likely from a previous litter. When I came across the family, the kits had already reached adolescence. They were exceptionally curious.

“I spent time getting to know them, and they me. This fox often came quite close which enabled me to take this shot as she was literally just inches from my camera.”

“I loved the curiosity in the face. She was just so intrigued. I built a real relationship with them, particularly this individual and mum.

“Towards the end of summer, the cubs took themselves off to find their own territory. I’ll probably not come across this fox again, but I made some precious memories with her.”

“It’s moment like this that show what’s important and make my love for wildlife grow even stronger. It’s important for everyone’s well-being that we develop a good relationship with wildlife and value each creature’s contribution. I won’t say where I found this fox family so as not to endanger them, but it wasn’t too far from my home in Farsley.”

Rosie hopes that if they like the photo lots of local people will vote for her entry using this link
