Both tracks have to pass inspections but Andy Robson has two naps and two value plays if the meetings get the green light.

Andy Robson, who you’ll know from Twitter/X and Instagram, has consulted his horse racing expert and has four exciting tips for us across Saturday’s ITV racing.

Andy’s Bet Club has Horse Racing Predictions for every weekend, as well as Cheltenham Festival Tips ahead of the 2026 Festival in March.

14:40 Sandown – Kala Conti (nap)

KALA CONTI is a Grade 2 winning mare over hurdles, who has impressed by scoring in both her chase starts to date – including a 16-length thrashing of Kargese at Cork. She scored over 2m 5f at the same venue in a beginners chase so should have little problem with the step up to this 2m 4f trip. She’s officially rated the highest runner in the race and gets the 7lb mares allowance. With front-runners Sixmilebridge and Kitzbuhel likely to set a frenetic pace, she should have the perfect ‘tow’ into the contest,

The unexposed FORTUNATE MAN looks on an upward curve after an excellent 3m 1f handicap chase win at Aintree. A rise of 4lb may underestimate his claims, especially as a three-time winner on soft ground, who has been earmarked as a potential regional National winner by his trainer. The loveable Mr Vango is a big danger, as he adores the Esher track, but may prove vulnerable to this younger rival, to whom he concedes a lot of weight.

TITAN DISCOVERY has won four races over hurdles, and looks capable of further progress following a career-best win at Cheltenham over three miles last time out. That fine success showed how well he stays and is completely unexposed over longer journeys. He’s also a course scorer, which adds to his each-way claims here, and he has a fair chance of keeping on nicely up the testing straight.

15:30 LeopardstownAffordable Fury (value play)

AFFORDALE FURY caused a huge shock by winning the G1 Savills Chase over this course and distance in December. It was a clear personal best from the Noel Meade-trained charge, who made most of the running. The lightly-raced eight-year-old is worth supporting to prove that success wasn’t a fluke, with him being an unexposed chaser. The outstanding GALOPIN DES CHAMPS could reverse form, with his third to my selection last time, but he’s a short enough price to do so – especially he’s now a 10-year-old.
