Crystal Palace are still working on a deal to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen ahead of the transfer deadline as Leeds United wait in the wings, according to Sky Sports News.
The Selhurst Park side remain in talks over the Norway international’s arrival, despite initial reports claiming Palace were ready to walk away from the deal for the Leeds target.
Palace were close to completing a £50m move for Strand Larsen on Friday, having identified him as a potential replacement for unsettled Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The France international is looking to depart Selhurst Park in the final days of the transfer window, with Nottingham Forest among his suitors.
Palace Remain in Strand Larsen Talks

According to Sky Sports News, while uncertainty remains over Strand Larsen’s move to Palace, the Eagles have not completely walked away from the deal, with talks still ongoing between the parties:
“This evening, we understand that the deal hangs in the balance. Intermediaries are believed to have communicated to Wolves that Palace are ready to walk away from this deal.
“However, separately, I’ve been told by separate sources that that’s not the case, and talks are ongoing. So things do remain unclear and in the balance right now.
“One thing you could speculate is that a package worth around 50 million pounds for a player, as you rightly say, has struggle with form this season.
“He was brilliant last season, his first season in the Premier League at Wolves, helped guiding them to safety.
“14 goals, non penalty goals in the Premier League in his debut campaign, but this season, just one Premier League goal.”
Strand Larsen joined Wolves from La Liga side Celta Vigo in 2024 and has registered 15 goals and five assists in 56 Premier League appearances to date.
The 25-year-old forward has just one Premier League goal in 21 appearances this term, in a disappointing campaign for relegation-bound Wolves.
Rob Edwards’ side have collected just eight points from the opening 23 games and remain 17 points off safety, despite losing just once across their last five matches.
A £50m move for Strand Larsen would make him Palace’s record signing, surpassing the £35m spent on Brennan Johnson’s arrival earlier this month.
Palace Working on Evann Guessand Move

Amid their stalling talks for Strand Larsen, Palace have been working on a deal for Aston Villa forward Evann Guessand in recent days.
According to Sky Sports, the Eagles have an agreement in place over personal terms with the Frenchman, who is likely to join on loan with a conditional obligation to buy.
Palace have sold captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City this month and it remains to be seen whether they will seek a replacement in central defence before the end of the market.
Oliver Glasner’s side have endured a difficult run of form lately, failing to win their last eight Premier League games.
