Russia should strike Ukraine with what State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin described as “retaliatory weapons” in order to secure victory in the war, he said on January 30.
In a post on his Telegram channel, Volodin claimed that Russia’s parliamentary deputies are demanding the use of more powerful arms.
“Deputies of the State Duma insist on the use of more powerful weapons—retaliatory weapons—and on achieving the objectives of the special military operation,” he wrote.

Volodin also warned that, because of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian citizens would face “new problems” as early as next week. He did not specify what form those problems might take.
