A HORRIFIED mum told how her MG motor was torched in the middle of the night.

The plush motor was set alight outside a home on Meiklerig Crescent in Glasgow’s Pollok on Wednesday night.

The front of the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames during the late night attack.

Days after the blaze attack, the wrecked SUV is still on the street.

The entire front and part of the roof has been of the MG has been charred, the windscreen completely destroyed by the flames.

Flames also melted away the front left headlight and part of the bumper.

The owner of the car told how she heard the sound of her car being melted by the roaring blaze.

The mum-of-two, 41, said: “I was at home with my daughter. Next thing I know there was a bang and flames outside the window.

“I saw the car was in flames. It was terrible. I could hear the motor melting.

“My house and my daughter could have been harmed. I’m afraid for my life, getting attacked. It’s wrong. It’s totally thrown me.

“I’m trying to protect my weans as good as can. I don’t know how these people can get away with this.

“The police were here. I hope they can catch whoever’s responsible.”

The mum claimed she had also been attacked by a mystery thug with a baseball bat outside her house earlier on Wednesday.

She said she didn’t report the incident but that cops were made aware after they attended the fire.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told The Daily Record: “Around 10.20pm on Wednesday, 28 January, 2026, officers received a report of a car on fire in the Meiklerig Crescent area of Glasgow.

“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. It is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
